The Position
Experienced writer with a journalism or communications background.

Spend your days writing about Cairns and beyond! Our team of copywriters help maintain the flow of productivity at the Travel Shop. Whether you're writing articles, updating pricing or adding new products to the websites, the journalist team works to improve our online platforms to draw traffic to our websites. Your job is to produce excellent content, maintain accuracy and consistency across products, and help create a seamless user experience.
You have the opportunity to work across our variety of brands in the Cairns, The Whitsundays, The Outback, the East Coast, and K’gari (Fraser Island).
We are looking for someone who will be based in Cairns to engage with the community. We are open to negotiating full-time, part-time, casual or freelance contracts.
Your Profile
We're preferencing candidates with:
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism, digital media, communications, writing and/or editing
- Experience in the industry (copywriter, travel blogger, journalist, content manager, editor)
- SEO training
- Experience with Lightroom, Photoshop or image editing software
- Familiarity with basic coding, content uploading and graphic webpage styling
- Travel blogs, social media presence, or platforms of your own
- Ability to be based in Cairns
- Fluent English
- A unique, concise and colourful writing style that makes people want to keep reading your words
