Join Reef Encounter and take the next step in your diving education by completing a speciality Stress & Rescue Diver Course on the brimming Great Barrier Reef! Begin your course by completing nationally recognised first aid and oxygen administration training in Cairns before hitting the open waters.
Engage in a combination of short academic classes and plenty of practical training at a variety of reef locations. Learn how to avoid, recognise and solve in-water problems, in addition to the skills required to handle panic and rescue situations from your highly-qualified instructor. With all training conducted on the Great Barrier Reef, dive scenarios are made realistic granting students valuable hands-on experience!

Important Information
Course Pre-Requisites:
- Open Water Certification or higher from an accredited Dive Training Institution (PADI, SSI, RAID, NAUI, CMAS, BSAC or equivalent). Please bring your certification card with you for your live-aboard reef trip.
- You must hold current First Aid, CPR, and Oxygen Provider certifications from a recognised authority. These courses can be conducted at First Aid Academy in Cairns and takes a day to complete.
- Completion of online training prior to attending the course. Online access is only required to download the app – then you can use the app offline to complete all the pre-requisite theory training. This will be reviewed in the academic classes with your Scuba Instructor.
- It is law in Queensland that all scuba diving students get a medical check-up. Upon booking your course, you will be provided with information on how to get your medical check.
- The $520 fee for the Stress and Rescue Course is included in the advertised price, but is payable onboard directly to Reef Encounter.
What To Bring
Please bring an overnight bag with:
- Comfortable clothing and swimwear
- Warm clothes for the evening
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, marine safe sunscreen)
- Beach towel (shower towel provided)

- Open Water Dive Certification Card
- Dive medical if required (ask us if you are not sure)

Cancellations
20% cancellation fee for any cancellations made outside of 7 days prior to departure.
100% cancellation fee for cancellations made within 7 days of the departure date.
