Return Dropoff to accommodation within Cairns CBD between 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm.

Your Northern Experience Eco Tour begins with a complimentary Cairns pickup before travelling south from Cairns to the Atherton Tablelands! As one of the largest naturally formed pyramids in the world, your first photo opportunity is at the towering Walsh’s Pyramid. Next, capture the spectacular vista over Goldsborough Valley and the Coral Sea from Heales Lookout!

Lake Barrine

The first stop in the Wet Tropics World Heritage region comes at Lake Barrine, located within the Crater Lakes National Park. Enjoy a guided walk to the 1000-year-old Twin Kauri Pines, listening to the area’s ancient natural history along the way. Afterwards, it’s time for a Devonshire morning tea filled with freshly-baked scones and locally-brewed tea and coffee.

Curtain Fig Tree

Next stop is the historical town Yungaburra, where your guide will share the township’s logging past before continuing on to Curtain Fig Tree. Towering and twisting more than 45 metres into the rare Mabi forest, your guide will share the interesting story behind the formation of the 600 - 800-year-old epiphyte. Whilst exploring, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the unique Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo!

Millaa Millaa Falls

After cruising through the historical Australiana township of Malanda, the Northern Experience Eco Tour will arrive at one of Australia’s most-photographed waterfalls, Millaa Millaa Falls! Cascading at an astounding 18 metres high and surrounded by a stunning natural amphitheatre, we recommend enjoying a swim in refreshing rainforest waters and bringing along a camera for this destination!

Paronella Park

From here, guests can enjoy a well-deserved a la carte lunch with their small social group before heading to the National Trust-listed gardens at Paronella Park. Set amongst sprawling tropical gardens and inspired by founder Jose Paronella’s dream of a Spanish castle, guests can enjoy two hours of exploring the site and enjoying a 45-minute guided tour in either English, Chinese, or Japanese. From Kauri Avenue to Teresa Falls, the Grand Staircase and the suspension bridge over Mena Creek Falls, the photo opportunities are endless!

Paronella Park, Cairns

Babinda Boulders

Lastly, heading north back towards Cairns, guests can enjoy their second swim at the tranquil waters of Babinda Boulders. Nestled between striking granite boulders and Queensland’s two highest mountains, this lush mountain range is blanketed by World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest. As the Northern Experience Eco Tour cruises back to Cairns as the sun sets, be sure to reflect on the stunning day of adventure you’ve experienced!
