Start your day on a fast 45 minute comfortable catamaran cruise towards the magnificent Green Island, where you will have ample time to explore this spectacular reef and rainforest coral cay.
Your adventure continues from there, arriving at the Great Adventures spacious activity platform which is situated on the breathtaking Outer Great Barrier Reef. From here you can snorkel, scuba dive and enjoy seeing the reef from a semi-submersible boat or underwater observatory. Is this trip wheelchair friendly?
Wheelchair facilities are available, however there are some restrictions and some mobility may be required. Green Island has wide, paved pathways and accessible bathrooms. At the Outer Reef platform, there are steps to get into the underwater observatory and semi-submersible boat tour. Access from the Great Adventures boat to the pontoon is also via steps. A disabled toilet is available onboard the boat. It is recommended that you get in touch so we are able to advise you accordingly.
How many hours do we get at Green Island?
Enjoy 2 hours to explore and relax at Green Island before making your way back to the jetty for your transfer to the outer reef pontoon.
Do I need to know how to swim or snorkel for the Scubadoo Seawalker helmet diving?
the Scubadoo Seawalker helmet diving experience does not require you to have any snokelling experience. To participate in this activity, you will need to complete an pass the diving medical questionnaire and complete and safety briefing.
Are prescription masks available?
Standard masks magnify objects underwater by about 25%. Great Adventures have prescription masks up to -8.0 available. If you need a prescription mask, please let us know so the crew can make sure one is available for you. Supply is limited, especially in the higher prescription strengths.
Can I take a pram onto the boat, Green Island and the pontoon?
Yes you can. All are pram friendly. There is ample room on the boat, Green Island has paved and timber boardwalk paths and there is plenty of room on the outer reef activity platform.
What is the minimum age for scuba diving?
Scuba divers must be at least 12 years old and complete the medical questionnaire.
Where does the boat depart?
The Great Adventures boat departs from the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence St, Cairns. Please check in at the Great Adventures Reservation Counter inside at 8:00am.
