What a great day! We started with 2 hours on Green Island, which I thought was the perfect amount of time. We had a stroll around the island, a quick dip in the sea, and had time to watch the croc feeding at the wildlife habitat. We were more than happy to just relax for the morning, but there were also kayak rentals, parasailing, scuba diving and guided snorkel tours -- plenty to do if you chose to spend the whole day on the island. The trip out to the reef went quickly with snorkel briefings and a really interesting marine bio presentation on the way. Once on the pontoon, we joined the first semi-sub tour, which made us so excited to get in the water! By the time this was done, lunch was ready. Such a good variety of really yummy food, and then we were ready to jump in and work off all the calories we just ate ;) you also had the opportunity to upgrade to ScubaDoo underwater scooter tours or add scenic helicopter flights. All in all, we had a really wonderful day, highly recommend these guys!

Green Island is a nice chill place. The walking tracks make it easy to get to the beaches. Cute little birds everywhere. There is a snack station on the patrolled beach which tells you the times of the tides. GA boats air con was turned up way too high and was freezing inside, so much preferred to sit outside in the warm fresh air. Didn't receive morning tea cake, which was a little disappointing, but not the end of the world. lol. Pontoon was great. The included Semi-Submersible was good to do first thing to get a feel for what to expect when snorkeling. Lunch was a good variety of hot and cold foods and fruit. Snorkel spot was nice, not a whole lot of sea life, no turtles or reef sharks that I saw, but an interesting array of fish, and the giant clams were cool. Overall the staff were lovely. I'd recommend it for sure as an intro the the GBR and GI.

I would highly recommend the day trip to Green Island and Great Barrier Reef to anyone that has the urge to get out there and see what it's all about. The journey from Cairns Marina was great, great staff and spacious indoor cabin which protected us from the small down pour early in the morning. Quick service to Green Island but still enough time to take in the views of the rainforest meeting the reef. After exploring Green Island for two hours, it was time to head to the pontoon on the Great Barrier Reef. With so much to do we boarded a submarine, checked out the underwater observatory and snorkeled the famous corals. All of this was broken up with a delicious hot and cold buffet which everyone raved about. The journey back to the mainland was relaxed, enjoying the sound of the water as sailed back to Cairns arriving around five pm. Definitely something for everyone on this tour. Five stars!

I was originally just going to go to Green Island, and while I loved seeing Green Island and I'm very happy I got to see it ion this tour, the outer reef was so worth it! SO GOOD!!
