The annual Cairns Ecofiesta is just around the corner to be held on Sunday the 2nd of June 2024. This eco festival is considered one of the most popular sustainability events in Far North Queensland, Australia, celebrating all things good for the planet!
Every year Cairns Regional Council organises and coordinates hundreds of environmentally-friendly businesses both local and global to participate in showcasing their innovative products and services, provide hands-on workshops and present the latest technology in conservation solutions.

Where Will The Cairns Ecofiesta Be Held?
Munro Martin Parklands, located opposite the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) on Florence Street in Cairns City will become a vibrant space playing host to the day's eco-conscious festivities. From 10am-6pm the Ecofiesta comes alive with a variety of market stalls, workshops, activities and performances to peruse at your leisure.
Who Is The Ecofiesta Suitable For?
The ecofiesta caters to all ages and demographics, and has plenty of family-friendly activities on offer. Entry is free and it’s a great day out if you’re looking for something to do in Cairns that’s easy on the budget. Watch free performances, wander through the eco-friendly market stalls, and chat with local businesses about how they are innovating with sustainable solutions.
What Facilities Are Available At Ecofiesta Cairns?
At the Cairns eco festival, you’ll find amenities such as free parking along Grafton and surrounding streets, toilets, food vendors and accessibility-friendly resources throughout the event. It’s important to note that from early on Sunday, a section of Florence Street outside the entrance to Munro Martin Parklands will be closed off to allow market vendors to set up their stalls.
Guest Speakers And Panel Talks
Amongst the hubbub of the day’s activities, renowned scientists like Dr Karl Kruszelnicki will also present their collective solutions on how we can all help minimise our impact on the earth. Talks such as the Reef Resilience Showcase will discuss climate change and its effect on the Great Barrier Reef, along with insights from local community organisations and First-Nations leaders on how they care for the sea and land, and how they are responding to threats with partnership funding from the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
