Josephine Falls

Your next stop is Josephine Falls. Indulge in a morning swim at the fresh-flowing falls! Take a leisurely stroll through the rainforest to reach the crisp fresh waters of the well-known Josephine Falls. Play on the natural waterslide before the frenzy of tourists swarm the area. Take plenty of photos and keep an eye out for the unique wildlife. You might spot a bush turkey or a cassowary!

Millaa Millaa Falls

The next waterfall to visit is Millaa Milla Falls. This one is one of Australia's most iconic waterfalls as it was made famous by Qantas and Herbal Essence commercials. The 18 metre fall is surrounded by a stunning natural amphitheatre so don't forget your camera as you'll want to remember this magical place! Take a break from the sight seeing and visit the Malanda Pub for a traditional Australian pub meal (all included).

Curtain Fig Tree

In the afternoon, head to Curtain Fig Tree, a 15-metre-high enchanting ancient tree. Admire the mesmerising, twisting tree roots that tower above you. Keep an eye out for local native animals tucked away in the rainforest. You might even see a Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo if you're lucky!

Lake Eacham

The final stop of the day is Lake Eacham, a dormant volcanic crater lake created many millennia ago. The lake is flourishing with native flora, fauna and glassy, clear waters. Look for native Platypus who take up residence in the secluded lake. Take one last swim in the warm waters as the sun begins to fade before boarding the coach and heading back to Cairns. What a day!

Cape Tribulation Day Tour Itinerary

Mossman Gorge

Start your tour with a panoramic scenic drive as you follow the Coral Sea coast from Cairns to Port Douglas. Soak in the stunning views before arriving at Mossman Gorge in the Daintree Rainforest. The majestic gorge is filled with large boulders of granite and surrounded by luscious green rainforest. At Mossman Gorge you will be met by traditional owners for an exclusive "Welcome to Country" ceremony. Learn about the customs and traditions of the Bama (Rainforest) people with an informative presentation. Participate in a smoke ceremony where traditional rainforest body paint is applied and then enjoy a swim in the cascading clear waters.

Cape Tribulation

Next up is Cape Tribulation. Cross the Daintree River in a ferry and settle into the rainforest to enjoy the provided lunch. After lunch, follow the guides through the Marrdja Botanical Boardwalk and listen to the expert talks on the history of the ancient rainforest. Admire the low lying ferns, rainforest canopy and mangroves along the walk. Enjoy an ice cream (at own cost) from the Daintree Ice Cream Co where they freshly hand make their own ice cream.

Wildlife River Cruise

As you head to the wildlife cruise, enjoy a great photo opportunity spot at the Alexandra Range Lookout. Take photos with views sweeping over the Daintree Rainforest, right out to the Coral Sea - definitely photos worth showing off to your family and friends back home. As the afternoon seeps in, board the Wildlife River Cruise where you can learn about the fragile ecosystem and keep an eye out for a crocodile sighting!

Port Douglas

Begin the journey back to Cairns via a brief stop in Port Douglas. Explore what the charming town has on offer. Wander along the foreshore, pick up a souvenir from the gift shops or quaint boutiques. Stop in at one of the countless bars or cafes for an afternoon coffee or a refreshing beverage before boarding the bus back to Cairns.

We highly recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. You should also ensure your travel insurance will cover special circumstances including weather events preventing guests from travelling to their tour departure destination and cancelled flights due to unforeseen circumstances.

We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, especially during the wet season.

In the unlikely event of your trip being cancelled or stood down, all guest communication is required to go through our Online Store via telephone or email.
